Prof. Hesuan Hu 胡核算教授

Biography: Hesuan Hu (Senior Member, IEEE) received the BS degree in computer engineering and the MS and PhD degrees in electro-mechanical engineering from Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2003, 2005, and 2010, respectively. He is currently a full professor with Xidian University. He is a holder of more than 40 issued and filed patents in his fields of expertise. His current research interests include discrete event systems and their supervisory control techniques, Petri nets, automated manufacturing systems, multimedia streaming systems, autonomous vehicles, cyber security, and artificial intelligence. He has more than 170 publications in journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings in the above areas. He was a recipient of many national and international awards, including the Franklin V. Taylor Memorial Award for Outstanding Papers from the IEEE SMC Society, in 2010 and the finalists of the Best Automation Paper from the IEEE ICRA Society, in 2013, 2016, and 2017. He has been an associate editor of the IEEE Control Systems Magazine, IEEE Robotics and Automation Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, and Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing. He is an IEEE distinguished lecturer.




Prof. Xiaofeng Lu 芦效峰教授

Biography: Lu Xiaofeng is a professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and the director of the Software Security Center. He is a distinguished member of the China Computer Federation and a member of IEEE. His main research directions are distributed computing, blockchain, distributed artificial intelligence and cyber security. He has served as the conference chair of BDMLS and AITS for many times, and as the TPC of INFOCOM AidTSP, TrustCom, IEEE UIC, IEEE CSE, IEEE EUC, IEEE HPCC, IEEE ISPA, ICCS, etc. He has published over 60 papers in TIFS, TPDS, TON, IOTJ, ESWA, CCS, WWW and other journals, and has won the Best Paper Awards of ISCAIS, IOTSC and AIVRV.




Prof. Ana Meštrović

University of Rijeka, Croatia

Biography: Ana Meštrović is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies, University of Rijeka. She is the Head of the Laboratory for Semantic Technologies at the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies and the Head of the Complex Networks Laboratory within the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity at the University of Rijeka. Since 2024, she has also served as the Head of the Doctoral Study Programme in Informatics at the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies. She has more than 20 years of research experience in the field of artificial intelligence, particularly in natural language processing and complex network analysis. Throughout her academic career, she has participated in numerous AI-related projects, published more than 100 scientific papers in internationally recognized journals and conference proceedings, and received over 1,500 citations. She is currently the principal investigator of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NPOO) project “Artificial Intelligence Methods for Media Text Analysis and Information Dissemination Research – AInfoMedia” and is involved in a number of other scientific research and professional projects. She is actively engaged in the AI4Gov-X, AI-SECRETT, and EDIH Adria 2.0 projects, funded by the Digital Europe Programme, which focus on the application of AI technologies in public administration, businesses, and society in general.
She actively contributes to numerous international and national conferences as a member of programme and organizing committees, continuously promotes science communication and popularization, and is dedicated to mentoring young researchers. She supervised two PhD candidates who successfully defended their doctoral dissertations in 2025 and served as a mentor to a postdoctoral researcher within the YUFE programme “Citizens’ Wellbeing” (in collaboration with Maastricht University, 2024–2026).
In addition to her academic and research activities, she is involved in two startups: PEOPLET, funded within the NPOO startup/spin-off support scheme for young researchers, and SyntAgent, focused on the development of AI technologies. Since 2024, she has been a member of the National Committee for the Social Sciences – Field of Information and Communication Sciences. Since 2025, she has also been a member of the Expert Working Group for the preparation of the National Plan and Action Plan for Artificial Intelligence Development at the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation of the Republic of Croatia.
She has received several awards and recognitions, including the “Annual Award of the City of Rijeka for Outstanding Contribution to Research in Information Sciences Aimed at Community Wellbeing,” the “Award for Scientific Excellence in Project Activities of the University of Rijeka,” and the “Knowledge Transfer Award” presented by the University of Rijeka Foundation.
